It’s Supposed To Be Spring?!

Here it is April 4th and I just finished a nice Fatbike ride before work. ┬áNormally it is not uncommon for our trails to be free of snow and rideable by the beginning of April, not this year. April came in with a vengeance and dumped another 5-6″ of fresh heavy snow ontop of what was already there. Temperatures over the weekend and busy schedules didn’t allow me to get out and groom, but a few persistent souls got out and rolled around the lower trails on PRKR and made them rideable. This morning it was crisp and in the twenties so the trails were set up nice a firm. A few ruts here and there but definitely doable. So while we wait for mother nature to give us the big thaw and get us back on track for spring, I suggest if you want to ride PRKR stick to your Fatbike and ride in the morning when the trails are firm. Who knows if we get another storm I might get out and groom one last time!

Hey, What The ???

So two weekends ago we were dealing with 30″ of fresh snow and trying to groom everything for our first annual Fatbike Poker Ride. Thankfully the temps warmed enough on Saturday 2/18 for some compaction to occur. Sunday morning we were up early attempting to groom for our event. We even ran out and bought a classic 1972 Skidoo Olympic 302 to help with the effort.img_1385

Thankfully Mother Nature smiled upon us and the trails set up nicely for a great event. We had about 30 riders show up for the Poker Ride many had never ridden PRKR before. The result was big smiles and promises to come back for more. We raised over $800 to put towards constructing our parking area and a very large pump track! Want to get involved? I want to help PRKRand let us know how you can help.img_4923 Continue reading “Hey, What The ???”

Here we are!

Welcome to PRKR’s brand new website! We are kind of stumbling around figuring out wordpress but hope to fill this site with many features including maps, suggested routes, links to our FB page, pictures and an events calendar. Stay tuned and keep checking regularly for updates.
